Brand refresh

The McKinnon Prize in Political Leadership is an esteemed political award that recognises good political leadership at a local, state, and federal levels.

The brief

The McKinnon Prize required their existing brand to be modernised and aligned with the prestigious nature of the award.

The brief from the Client was to undertake a brand refresh within a few short weeks to enable the website to be built in time for the next yearly award cycle that was about to start.

The outcome

Partnering with the team from McKinnon Prize, visual branding concepts were created along with a revised logo. The visual brand adopted a premium colour palette of slate and gold in line with the prestigiousness of the award.

Brand concepts were created, presented, and refined until the final concept was approved. The visual brand uses the star shape from the logo as its core anchor point for the supporting visual graphics.

In line with the tone of voice, motion guidelines were incorporated into the broader brand guidelines.

A new suite of PowerPoint templates and supporting branded assets were produced, transforming the way the team works.

Brand training was delivered to the team, along with PowerPoint and Word training specific to their branded templates.
