Event Design

The McKinnon Prize is an annual political leadership award jointly run by McKinnon and the University of Melbourne, recognising excellence in Australian political leadership.

The brief

The brief was to produce all design and PowerPoint requirements for the 2025 event, held at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra on Thursday 9 October 2025. This required close collaboration with the McKinnon Prize team on timing and deliverables.

The design work needed to reflect the prestige and formality of the award while working seamlessly across multiple formats – from digital screens to printed materials – and accommodate the technical specifications of the 12-metre-wide projection screen that dominated the event.

The outcome

A comprehensive suite of event collateral was delivered, ensuring visual consistency across all touchpoints from pre-event communications through to the ceremony itself.

Physical and digital materials – including foamboards featuring all nominees, welcome signage, name tags, and the electronic lectern display – were produced to create a cohesive visual experience throughout the event.

All deliverables were completed within the tight timeframe required for the October event, with materials successfully deployed across the National Portrait Gallery venue.
